Rocío Guenther, MPA is the founder of Guerita Consulting LLC, where she helps organizations communicate with clarity, engage communities, and build lasting connections across languages and cultures.


Raised in Guadalajara, Mexico and San Antonio, Texas, Rocío brings a binational lens to her work. With experience spanning journalism, government, and international affairs, she understands both the challenges and opportunities that come with cross-cultural communication.

Background & Experience

  • Government & Public Service: Served as Director of Community Engagement for San Antonio Mayor Ron Nirenberg, leading initiatives that connected thousands of residents to city resources. She also supported the city’s international relations team, coordinating major events with foreign delegations.


  • Journalism & Media: Began her career as a bilingual journalist, covering politics, immigration, and U.S.–Mexico relations. Her reporting has appeared in outlets such as PRI’s The World, Democracy Now!, Latino Rebels, and Buzzfeed.


  • Research & International Affairs: Named a German Chancellor Fellow (2023–2024), she conducted a year-long project in Germany on local government responses to migration and integration, comparing transatlantic approaches to welcoming communities.
